Outstanding projects of the electrical trade awarded again

The Light Award, awarded by the NFE North German Electrical Engineering and Information Technology Association, has been an integral part of the GET NORD trade fair since 2014 and rewards lighting projects that focus equally on the environment, design and technology.

This year, four innovative projects in the categories "Sports Facilities", "Hotel/Event", "Workplaces" and "Culture" were again honoured and a special prize was also awarded.

The jury

The anticipation is rising among the jury members of this year's Light Award, as the inspections of the submitted projects started in October. "We were pleased to receive a large number of high-quality applications," says Timm Göckens, NFE managing director (pictured left).

The award ceremony took place on 18 November 2022 at the GET NORD 2022 trade fair as part of an industry get-together at the trade fair stand (Hall B 7, Stand 330) of the Electrical North Associations of Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein.

Many thanks to the car dealership Senger, which sponsored the VW bus for the trip of the project visits.

Category „Workplaces“

O.N.T. Elektrotechnik GmbH & Co. KG won in the category "Workplaces". The extension of the HH-Moorfleet logistics hall for tyre storage posed a challenge to the technology due to chemical vapours. The jury was particularly impressed by the concept of the light that travels with the building.

Category „Culture“

The staging of the museum ship "Peking" by Elektro-Alster Nord GmbH & Co. KG won the "Culture" category. According to the jury, the challenge here was the integration of a complex lighting system in a four-masted barque that was fit for a museum, as well as the high expectations paired with the requirements of a museum ship.

Special Prize

The special prize was awarded to Torst Elektrotechnik GmbH in the form of an education voucher of 1,000 euros, sponsored by Sonepar Germany. The company realised the complete office and production installation with complex building infrastructure in the MEDAC project with a team of only a few employees.

According to the jury, the special prize was awarded because of the craftsmanship of the small company's teamwork and the detailed presentation and preparation of the presentation. In the project, special challenges had to be overcome in terms of time, safety engineering and staff deployment.
